We hope you and your family made it through Hurricane Irma safely. Please know that we are here for you in this time of need.
In a New Release dated 9.15.17, the IRS granted hurricane relief for individuals and businesses for all 67 Counties in Florida. This hurricane relief has allowed the IRS to extend the tax filing deadlines for most returns (including individual, corporate and estate and trust income tax returns; partnership returns, S corporation returns, trust returns; estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax returns; annual information returns of tax-exempt organizations; and employment and certain excise tax returns), that have either an original or extended due date occurring on or after September 4, 2017 and before January 31, 2018. This hurricane relief is also granted for estimated tax payment with due date after September 4, 2017 and before January 31, 2018 (typically the 3rd and 4th installments). Basically, most individual and business tax returns have been extended until January 31, 2018.
Our goal at Berman Hopkins is to continue to prepare the tax returns and provide our clients with superior service as normal.
