TaxCaddy Simplifies Tax Time
At Berman Hopkins, we are committed to making tax season easier and more secure for our clients. That is why we are partnering with TaxCaddy—a secure, user-friendly platform that allows you to communicate with your tax advisor, upload and share documents, and sign e-file authorization forms. All from the convenience of your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Getting Started with TaxCaddy

Berman Hopkins will send you a TaxCaddy invitation via email. Click the Sign Up Free button to create your TaxCaddy account.

Create your password, set up three security questions, and follow the remaining steps to complete your TaxCaddy account.

Log in to your TaxCaddy account and accept the connection request from Berman Hopkins. This will allow us to exchange messages and securely access the documents you upload..
Please Note: You can only connect to a single tax firm or professional.

Grant access to your spouse, financial advisors, or other users. Link your banks and brokerage accounts to TaxCaddy to automatically retrieve your documents.

Drag and drop any documents you have received electronically directly to your TaxCaddy account.
Upload each document only once. If the same document applies to another requested item, mark that item as “Already Provided” to avoid uploading duplicates.
Whenever possible, set up Smart Links for your government tax documents.

Install the TaxCaddy app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play to submit photographs of paper documents as you receive them. It provides a convenient way to access your information and communicate directly from your mobile phone.
While TaxCaddy does convert photos into high-quality PDFs, we recommend uploading any existing PDF files—especially brokerage 1099s—directly by dragging and dropping them into your account for the best results.

Download your tax returns and sign your e-file authorization forms via the SafeSend Returns integration directly from your TaxCaddy account. Once you have completed the action items, click Done Uploading to notify Berman Hopkins to begin preparing your return.

If you have technical questions about your TaxCaddy account or are experiencing trouble accessing your account (e.g., if you forgot your password), the TaxCaddy support team is just an email away.
Connect with Your Tax Professional
Berman Hopkins will send you a connection request through TaxCaddy to enable secure communication and access to your tax documents. Please note that you can only be connected to one tax firm or professional at a time.
Once you accept our connection request, your tax professional will be able to send messages and document requests through TaxCaddy, view documents uploaded by you or any additional user, access documents retrieved from financial institutions you have authorized, and upload documents directly to your TaxCaddy account.
